A New Earth: Awakening your life purpose:
Fear, greed, and the desire for "more" or power are the psychological
motivating forces not only behind warfare and violence between
nations, tribes, religions, and ideologies , but also the cause of incessant
conflict in "our" personal relationships. They bring about a distortion in your
perception of other people and yourself. Through them , you misinterpret every
situation, leading to misguided action designed to rid you of fear and satisfy your need
for MORE, a bottomless hole that can never be filled.
I heard once that if a woman didn't feel loved or fulfilled she would eat chocolate or go shopping. Or women say, I will be happy or content once I've achieved this or obtained this. Why?
I think many people look for resolve or contentment in obtaining "More" or becoming "noticed" from ego driven desires and then come to find they still want more. . . but when does it end? A cycle of want and want and wanting more once you have the "more" you wanted. I love becoming more aware of the simple beauty it is to just "be" and not desire any thing "more" to feel fulfilled. I am content. I am a child of God. I have everything I need. My Life my Love and my Family. Life is wonderful.
"Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you."

I love that you're reading this book! It's amazing and it inspired me to be better on so many levels. Thanks for sharing, Ash!

PS. That end quote is one of my favorite passages from the "Tao Te Ching," was it in the book or where did you first find it?
